Robert Michael Weahkee makes delightful animals from antler. We're honored to offer a 1st Place Blue Ribbon Award from 2023's Southwestern Association for Indian Arts bestowed for his "Cat Fish" carving. This hilarious feline holds two fish dinners in plump paws, celebrating the catch through shared turquoise inlaid eyes. Carved from one portion of burnished antler, this whimsically creative work measures about 5" tall, 5 3/8" wide and 1 1/2" deep. The fish are burnt out for lovely scale detail and the incised whiskered kitty cat wears a gorgeous lapis, smokey quartz and aquamarine bead offering necklace.
